Abortion on the Decline

Over the last decade, we have seen the number of children being killed by abortion slowly – but steadily – dropping. The most recent reports indicate more of the same. Praise God! While the number of little boys and little girls who are being saved is increasing, there are still many more who are being discarded by their parents.

Previously we knew that 926,000 babies were being lost to abortion every year, the new data shows that the number has dropped to 862,000 abortions occurred in 2017 (the most recent abortion numbers nationwide as reported by the Guttmacher Institute).

In the state of Ohio (where Created Equal is based), there was a 2% drop in the number of abortions preformed in 2018 from 2017. The largest decline in abortions took place in Columbus, the number of abortions dropped by 36% from 2017 to 2018. Our team goes to the 3 abortion facilities in Columbus once each week to counsel and reach out to those who are going into to have their children killed. Over the last decade (Created Equal has been operating for 8 of those 10 years), there has been a 31% drop in the number of babies dying in Ohio.

Created Equal certainly cannot take credit for this alone, there are many other organizations and individuals who have been huge in helping to rescue these little ones through the power the Holy Spirit. When people see the horror of abortion, all of the rhetoric surrounding the subject falls away and the way that people think and feel about it changes. Our goal remains the same, to change how people view abortion, save babies who are being killed, and present the Gospel to those left hurting from abortion.
